Um Wireshark ¹⁾ derzeit (01/2010) auf Snow Leopard zu nutzen sind einige Handgriffe erforderlich:

• Laden Sie sich die neueste Wireshark Version auf http://www.wireshark.org/download.html herunter und mounten Sie das DMG-Image
• Ziehen Sie das Wireshark Icon in das Applications Verzeichnis
• Öffnen Sie das Utility Verzeichnis im Wireshark Disk Image und ziehen Sie das ChmodBPF Verzeichnis in das /Library/StartupItems Verzeichnis
• Ändern Sie den Besitzer des Verzeichnisses /Library/StartupItems/ChmodBPF rekursiv in root:wheel:

* Kopieren Sie den Inhalt des Command Line Verzeichnisses von <fc #008000>/Volumes/Wireshark/Utilities/Command\ Line</fc> nach <fc #008000>/usr/local/bin</fc>:

* Starten Sie Wireshark aus dem Applications Verzeichnis, ggf. öffnet sich ein weiteres Fenster mit einer Warnung, quittieren Sie dieses
* Öffnen Sie im Wireshark Fenster den Dialog <fc #008000>Edit -> Preferences -> User Interface -> Name Resolution</fc>
* Klicken Sie auf den <fc #008000>Edit</fc>-Button bei der Option <fc #008000>SMI (MIB and PIB) paths</fc>
* Klicken Sie dort auf den <fc #008000>New</fc>-Button und tragen dort den Pfad <fc #008000>/usr/share/snmp/mibs</fc> ein
* Bestätigen Sie alle Fenster mit OK und Apply und starten Sie Mac OS neu
* Fertig
